Hello all!
Hoping you are well and enjoying the beautiful colours of the trees wherever you are.
I have had a much needed month away and when I came home I was at Dover waiting for the ferry, and three white, middle aged men stood by my car. Loudly they discussed the issue of asylum seekers arriving on small boats.
But that wasn’t the terminology they used. My heart sank.
As I drove home, I noticed the flags, and my heart sank further. But where can I GO, if I don’t feel welcome here? THIS IS MY HOME.
This is again where I am reminded of the words of the great Nina Simone
“an artist's duty... is to reflect the times”
I will continue doing the work I do, more loudly, more visibly. Just MORE.
What do YOU think?
If you are wondering how to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society…here’s a concrete way!

I am delighted to have a painting in this auction, plus I will sing at the event on the 17th October.
Join me for Norwich Arts Stream’s second Art Auction at City Hall. Tickets available here.
It promises to be a fun evening with a bar and entertainment from The Common Lot and myself. There are over 80 donations from well established and local up and coming artists.
You can view the pre auction digital catalogue here. (It’s a live document and will be added to and updated)
Places at the auction are very limited due to the capacity of the City Hall chamber, tickets cost £6 and you can buy your ticket here which will entitle you to a bidding ‘paddle’ so you can bag some great pieces in the room.
If you are not able to come on the night but are still interested in buying a piece, you can find out how to make a pre submission bid here
